At Mayfield School, mental health is a priority because our pupils’ emotional wellbeing is fundamental to their learning, development and overall quality of life.
We know that when children feel safe, understood and supported, they are better able to engage, communicate and reach their potential.
During Children’s Mental Health Week, we explored the theme of a sense of belonging, with a focus on friendships, understanding and expressing feelings, and looking after ourselves physically through movement and massage activities. Through a variety of inclusive experiences, we encouraged pupils to build connections, develop resilience and celebrate what makes them unique.
