Careers learning at Mayfield School is built into our curriculum and involves aspects of students personal and social development. It is delivered in KS3, 4 and 5 but builds on the broad and balanced curriculum started in EYFS, KS 1 and 2. It widens pupils horizons, challenges stereotypes and raises aspirations. We support our pupils to develop knowledge and skills necessary to make successful transitions throughout their life.
We aim to equip our students with skills for working life by promoting functional skills and independence. This forms the basis of the learning for all students in KS3, 4 and 5. Improving motivation and attainment, self esteem and developing long term realistic aspirations. Thus, preparing them for adulthood and where possible, working life. The programme will promote equality of opportunity, inclusion and anti-racism.
