Lakes 4

A big welcome to Lakes 4!

In lakes 4 we're mixed class of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.

Our staff team: Rhyannan (Teacher), Leanne (TA), Shona (TA) and Cerita (TA)

The Gincase

We all enjoyed our recent trip to the Gincase. We saw lots of farm animals, played on the park, soft play and in the sandpit. We had so much fun!

Supertato

In Literacy we have been learning all about Supertato.

We found a crime scene in our project space. We searched for clues and wrote a crime report for PC Ben. We came to the conclusion that it was the Evil Pea! We made wanted posters to help in the search for him. We eventually found Evil Pea trapped in jelly in our classroom. We helped him out but kept him in a safe place whilst we wrote letters to PC Ben to come and get him and put him in jail! We’re so please we’re safe from the Evil Pea… for now.

This half term our topic is 'Superheroes'.

Our train ride to St.Bees

We had such a fantastic time on our class trip to St.Bees!

The Train Ride

This half term we have also been focusing on the book The Train Ride. We have been on a bus journey to look at farm animals which we saw in the book. We have been on an imaginary train ride to the zoo in our immersion room and we have been on a train ride to St.Bees just like the journey to the seaside town in the book. We have got lots of great writing out of these experiences including writing train tickets to go to the zoo. Writing about what we think we might see both on the farm and on our journey to St.Bees and about what we saw on these journeys.

The Naughty Bus!

We have all thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Naughty Bus.

We loved finding out about the silly things he got up to like driving through beans, trying to brush his teeth and falling in the sink! We have got lots of great Literacy work out of this text including writing wanted posters for the Naughty Bus after he went missing, writing rules for him to stop being naughty, writing adverts for our bus wash and communicating our choice of sensory elements to experience the story.

This half term our topic is 'Journeys'.
